Racing is the very core of our DNA. Our quest for efficiency is perpetual and unstoppable.
We take nothing for granted and keep our minds open. SKAWs are:

  • Radical designS

  • Bringing together the best of aero/hydrodynamics

  • Short-handed offshore racing as well as dinghies

We designed race-winning rigs, foils, systems, and platforms.
And because our egos are normal-sized, we team up with the best of the bests.

Nicomatic 6.50

The now famous « Bill » mini 6.50 history started on a blank sheet of paper on Benoit’s desk, integrating 10 years of racing experience. The fully foiling mini, designed with aero in mind, with decksweeper mainsails, lowered roof, low drag scow hull and plunging foils designed for open sea wavy tracks was built in 2022, won it’s first race the same year and first flew on Dec. 9th. 2022. Performance of the boat happened to exceed expectations right from day one. All the double handed races this year will take place with the designer onboard. Caroline Boule, client and skipper, managed the project, Benoit coordinated the design in collaboration with the naval architecture legend Sam Manuard. « The foiling and offshore experience of Benoit, together with its ability to think out of the box, his willingness to partner with Sam - to both of us the most talented naval architect of the moment - made possible the birth of the most incredibly efficient mini ever made.  Sailing has now entered a new era, what an amazing SKAW racing machine»

International Moth

Our radically fast Moth was designed with aero in mind: more driving force thanks to streamlined cambered wings, allowing for a strong plaque effect of the deck sweeper of the sail. The first well-working deck sweeper sail in the class was designed in 2016 by Benoit, working with a now famous Z boom made by Airbus at their RnD Technocampus factory in Nantes. It won races at European levels and placed 7th at Moth Worlds 2017.

Thinner, longer, and thus faster foils were made with the famous thin-ply carbon composite from NTPT at Foils and Co, which proved fast on the race course.

This little exhilarating machine has been the perfect testbench for gathering valuable data at the highest level to tune in to our tools and design methods.
